Yes Lori, I agree.  The "pornographic watch" is the priest
being able to look but not touch (looking and longing on the
sly) and I always took "sure it's stricken from your
uniform, but you can't get it out of your eyes" to mean that
he isn't wearing his clerical collar, as most priests don't
these days in public, so there is no way to tell he is a
priest, but in his heart he knows the vocation he's chosen,
still he can't stop from sneaking occasional looks at the
carnal attractions before him.  It's like the phrase "night
watch", or keeping watch in the night.  I always felt that
Joni used it as a description of the priest's fantasies, not
a literal "watch" or "wristwatch."
