Hi Matt,
A cartoon coaster is the kind of thing you get to put your pint (of beer) on
in a bar, like any coaster, only presumably with some sorta cartoon ad on it
or something. And I take "constantly in the darkness" as a rebuttal to the
lover saying she is constant as the northern star, i.e stable and ok, and
she is saying no, I'm like the northern star not because I'm constant but
because I'm in the darkness, so I'm not ok. The map of Canada is probably
her thinking of home but his face on it twice just means to me she can't get
him out of her head (sorry for the Kylie reference!). The woman with "a
mouth like yours" I think is her lover's mother, whose mouth resembles his,
giving her advice on what to do. Just my thoughts on it anyways!

p.s forget relationships and go travelling instead - thats what I'm about to
do, and it always seemed to work for Joni - "Maybe I'll go to Amsterdam,
maybe I'll go to Rome"!!!

Peace,
Owen
