hi all, joining the thread of others covering joni's songs i was pondering the idea of joni remixed. The other day I got hold of a cd of verve (the jazz label) Remixed by dance producers. Though all the songs don't quite cut the mustard there is a wonderful remix of Carmen Macrae singing how long has this been going on? The other artists tackled on this comp are billie holiday, nina simone, astrud gilberto and ella. Heres the question. If you were to wish for a joni remix what would it be and how would you imagine it being executed. The wonderful thing about the carmen song is the way held notes have been looped and certain phrases repeated seamlessly. For starters I would love to hear a remix of sweet bird. THe remix of Big yellow taxi for the friends soundtrack was a little dull and dare i say unimaginative. Was it joni that remixed it?? So if you've any ideas.
