I always assumed it meant that she tapes a sheet of paper with lyrics on it for the song she's recording (probably because the song is so new she isn't always sure of the words). I used to tape such a sheet of paper to the mic stand in the studio all the time - and I STILL got lines wrong :-) lots of love Anne
