Recognizing that laws differ from place to place, I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has handled a divorce in their own - with no lawyer, or with only minimal use of lawyers. I have a friend who has done this & will discuss with her, but I'm appalled at how lawyers approach everything from an extremely adversarial position (when in most cases, it isn't necessary) and frankly, can't afford it. I'm not in a situation where either party could benefit to any great degree by going through this.
