Talking of graveyards, the first time I went to Lisbon, Portugal on
holiday my mother asked me to go to the 'English Cemetery' where
apparently many brits are buried, including some from Anglesey in Wales
(my mother was researching family history). She asked me to take photos
of any references to the Isle of Anglesey, which I did, but while walking
around looking for these graves I saw another one whose inscription made
me cry, and still does when I think of it. It was of a sea captain who
was killed in a naval battle but below the reference to his death on the
gravestone was also hastily engraved a reference to his wife, drowned in
a shipwreck while traveling from England to attend his funeral.
Goosebumps on my arms as I type this.
