Well, as I've already stated (since my email comes in
in reverse), I've always thought we should do that. Why
do we have to trust in God? The trust in a transaction
is in those parties undertaking the transaction. Ane we
trust the government to mint money that has value.
Let's face it, God's not going to come in and pay up
your 21% credit card debt, so he/she/it has nothing to
do with currency.

So, now that I've said all this, I' m off to find out
the legal status of the Pledge of Allegiance. Is it
considered government sponsored, or in some way
officially affiliated with the government? If so, then
"under God" shouldn't be part of it. If, on the other
hand, it's a poem, just as "God Bless America" is a
song that poplular, but not the national anthem, then
the issue is cloudier. However, just from a copyright
point of view, I'd rather it be returned to its
original form.
