Over the last few months I have had more than a handful write off list to me expressing how uncomfortable they feel on the list, how hurt they feel by lack of response or by the type of response they have gotten. People I have been surprised feel this way. other people I have seen fly off the handle and get hurt , people I wouldn't have expected to . People I have had good relaionships with who now don't even write for reasons I don't get. Some people have got really nasty. Others have overeacted, some of us being particulalry sensitive or insensitive. Misunderstandings that haven't been resolved. Many retreats into lurking. In all it has been rather volatile for us all, and I mean include myself in this. Not having a pop at anyone.
I have been here 5years this month. Never have i known the list to be like this. My gut feeling is that Sept 11 is the cause, or rather our feelings about Sept 11. Can't back that up with evidence and I don't say it is the truth. It is my feeling.(an weirdly enough the appalling weather is worrying-rain and cold enough to require heating in July!) I know there thave been no fights recently, things are very calm. I do not intend for this to start one. I wouldn't have mentioned it all because I thought it was just me that felt the list was different. But i have too many mails to think that now. Grief and shock take their toll and it takes time to heal from it.
