Yeah, well the thing that has been impressing me lately is that by the
time Hejira was released, everyone in North America had made up their
individual mind about Joni Mitchell. To most, she was a 4-hit wonder, a
has-been-hippie-chick-with-a-guitar who wasn't on the radio anymore. As
Marcel once pointed out, it's flat-out amazing that the same mind that
wrote "Nathan La Franeer" for guitar and voice, came up with "Amelia"
for a jazz combo.

I hope it inspires all of our songwriters, arrangers, and musicians.
Meaning our JMDL songwriters, arrangers, and musicians. Oh, yeah, it
should inspire our aspiring music critics too. (Ahem!)

Victor was saying,
 >>>>>> Funny you mention Amelia...I played it last night at an open mic
and it was
an unreal experience...I can't think of any other song that comes close
to
it...it seems to really cross the line and become more than just a
song, a
transcending experience reaching into the very heart of life itself...the
lyrics especially...Funny you mention Amelia...I played it last night at
an open mic and it was
an unreal experience...>>>>>>
