Hmmm. This thread on sequencing might prove thought provoking for Jack and Paz as they wrap things up in Nawlins.
Anyway, I'll chuck in my pet peeve on sequencing: TTT. It has always, always, bothered me that TTT starts with a very, very dirty, digital-grunge sound. Now, I love the track: "Harlem In Havana". To me, it's one of Joni's amazing miracles. I mean, where the hell did this come from? No one could have predicted that this genius, widely misunderstood as a ingenue, could conceive THIS! This is a producer's track. And the producer is Joni Mitchell! But, it needs the right setup. On my computer at work, my track sequence preserves most of Joni's sequencing while "fixing" only what bugs me. It starts with a sad one, Man From Mars, then picks up HER sequence, 'Love Puts On A New Face' and 'Lead Balloon'. As you know, that one ends with a big, purposely bent (sharp), trailing-off guitar sound. That's the *perfect* place to drop in the grungy, digital opening for "Harlem In Havana". When the carnival snippets come in, it all falls into place. Mmmmm. Yummy, not gummy. So, for me, it's 2,3,4,1, then back to Joni's sequence: 5,6,7,8,9,10, bonus track: Tiger Bones. Lamadoo ps, the Yahoo! spell check suggested changing "snippets" to..... wait for it...... "snip pets". Kinda Lynch-esque, eh? __________________________________________________ Yahoo! - We Remember 9-11: A tribute to the more than 3,000 lives lost http://dir.remember.yahoo.com/tribute
