Bob, Have you heard the live album from 1992 or 1993 called, Learning 
to Flinch?  That was the first disc I bought and how i fell in love with his 
songwriting. It is only him on acoustic guitar, keyboard or piano and it is 
terrific. There is an extended version of "Roland the Thompson Gunner" which 
blows my socks off.
           Thanks for the suggestions. If i could find that earlier live 
album, I would buy it.
