Good question Debra, and I hope that our Canadian brothers and sisters will 
answer that.  My curiosity still got me to do some google searching on 
Canadian history. A lot of info at Canadahistory.com, but I just had to look 
at the category of "origins of sayings".  I particularly liked this one, even 
though I don't think of it as a Canadian saying.
