Well, I slept through it. Which is not unusual for me.. I tend to think
nothing of these things. In October 1987 I went to sleep quite comfortably
one night, then woke up in the middle of the night thinking.. 'something's
wrong'. I realised that my girlfriend wasn't around and found her sleeping
on the couch. I shook her awake, thinking 'It's blowing a bit outside, ho
humm.' Next morning, I found the whole of south London in power cut
darkness, and the whole of southern Britain in shock from a storm that had
flattened a quarter of a million trees.

Earthquake - schmearthquake!

There I was sitting at my pc just before 1.am this morning, when I heard a
few small taps somewhere, followed by a very strange sensation, that felt
like a small ripple under my feet. Thinking maybe someone was trying to get
in (a bit paranoid, as I was burgled about 3 weeks ago), I made sure the
front door was secure and though no more of it. Then this morning I heard
in
the news that there was an earthquake in the Midlands at precisely that
time,
with tremors felt all over England. My first earthquake! "Only" 4 on the
Richter scale, so not a big one.

Did anyone else in England or Wales feel it too??
