<<Does anyone know the months they were
released.>>

Court & Spark was April '74. MOA was November '74

<<And, I wonder why there is only one song on Miles of Aisles from Court
and
Spark. It seems like since that was Joni's most recent work she would have
been more interested in playing the new work.>>

Good point...keep in mind that MOA is not a complete concert. She did play
some of the other C&S songs on the tour, for whatever reasons
(unfamiliarity, etc) they were not included on the record. Also, Joni & the
LA Express had done lots of shows in '74 prior to the C&S release, so they
probably had an established setlist that they were comfortable with. This
was Joni's first time out with a band, and some of those C&S compositions
were pretty complex. I don't know if this is all of the story, I'm just
kinda thinking out loud, and of course would be interested in what others
have to say.

<<I also have to say that I prefer the versions of many songs on Miles of
Aisles to their originals. For example, Rainy Night House, Carey, etc., to
name just two. I'm hoping that I will feel that way about Travelogue....>>

Me too...it is very tough to listen with fresh ears to a song that is
deeply engrained in your head as sounding a certain way. There's that
'resistance to change' factor, which is especially heightened when we're
talking about something as "sacred" as Joni's music.
