Just saw Ryan Adams for the fifth time last night. Anyone here on the list like him?
He is a great songwriter and performer... has a wonderful voice, plays both guitar and piano. Anyway, he played an acoustic show here in Chicago last night that was just fabulous. His piano playing reminds me of Joni's, that's why I brought it up... at any rate, he's 28 and while his songs are usually pretty serious stuff about love and failed relationships and all that, he exudes a goofy charm and makes jokes between songs... Heartbreaker is his best record, Gold is not bad, and the new one (Demolition) is pretty good too... he was in an alt-country band called Whiskeytown for some years too.
