I too have recorded these 23 songs on cassette to listen to until November 19. This collection is not just the greatest hit songs about getting or losing love that is so trivialized in all the top 40 songs today. The first two tracks Love and YDFT are about love but after Woodstock the following songs are about very serious topics STB ,JOTM&TS,and TSOS. Her subjects about the state of social conditions are the main themes in these songs example Sex Kills, Borderline, Cherokee Louise. This collection of songs have the strongest composition of melody rythmn and counter rhythm and offer the greatest advantage for orchestral arrangement. It is interesting that WTRF has 3 songs on this list, I am happy with 4 off Hejira but sad that no songs off THOSL were picked a symphonic Jungle Line would have cracked some plaster off the walls. This record Bussinees trend today still feeds off of radio play time the only FM station in Portland,Oregon will infrequently play Joni's Free Man in Paris, You Turn Me on I am a Radio or Woodstck from MOA. The only full time jazz station did play The Man I Love and Summertime that Joni sang with Herbie Hancock on his Gershwin's World CD. So will the Travelouge songs get any play on Jazz stations or maybe classical stations ? Travelogue will be bought by the most addicted Joniheads around the world. No regrets Coyote! sums it up on the last song . Added observation When I go into Borders or our local CD shops the Joni Bin has usualy most all of her Cd's I have an habit of spending some time putting them in order and then I reflect on the clacking hard plastic CD cases and remember when the weight and size of the vinyl LP's.The sight of STAS(Pyshodelicdoodles) and my love of Joni's colorfull self portait on Clouds. This has to be my longest post, blame it on the Sumatran Coffee and 18 JM CD's NP Don't Interupt the Sorrow. Good night Brian
