Linda Ronstadt-Lush Life. Interesting that I found this one after the talk about it
the past few
weeks. Listened to one side on the way home. Not good. She seemed to hit all of the
notes
perfectly. But so bland. Seemed to be pretty emotionless.

Hello All,
While I really love Linda's renditions here, I strongly agree that their downfall is
the lack of
emotion. I blame this squarely, however, on Nelson Riddle. I think his production
tends to have
this effect. I find it a bit "draggy" so to speak. He never seems to "turn her
loose." Again I
love the album, but believe this is an area where it does miss.

I have seen Linda live ... and in her day, many times on TV, she does punch a song out
with little
effort. She has a lot of power, which I would have thought would lend itself
perfectly in some of
the songs on Lush Life.

Guess I am now compelled to pull that one out for another listen. Thanks Mack, I do
hope it grows
on you somewhat, but I see your point.

Peace,
Susan
