Hello All, While I really love Linda's renditions here, I strongly agree that their downfall is the lack of emotion. I blame this squarely, however, on Nelson Riddle. I think his production tends to have this effect. I find it a bit "draggy" so to speak. He never seems to "turn her loose." Again I love the album, but believe this is an area where it does miss. I have seen Linda live ... and in her day, many times on TV, she does punch a song out with little effort. She has a lot of power, which I would have thought would lend itself perfectly in some of the songs on Lush Life. Guess I am now compelled to pull that one out for another listen.
