Vince shared this: Down down down into the darkness of the grave Gently they go, the beautiful, the tender, the kind; Quietly they go, the intelligent, the witty, the brave. I know but I do not approve, And I am not resigned.
Thanks for sharing this beauitful work of Edna St. Vincent Millay, Vince. I too am not resigned. Wanted to add that in my experience, they, our loved ones, are not as gone as we think. Part of us goes with them and part of them stays with us and lives on! Senator Wellstone's passing is both a tradgedy of the human form and politically. And politically speaking, (of course it's me!), this should be a rallying cry to all of us, on either side of the issues to take more active roles in our process. Number one by VOTING, as friends and I discussed yesterday. But more so by being active members in our commmunities or our local political systems. We can't rely on one person's life to lead, we must all take part. It reminded me of a much younger woman's vow to venture into the political arena, which she never did. But it may not be too late, for me or others here, who speak with such passion, to do so. We can't keep crying out for justice and wait around for someone else to save us. So with all my hope mustard, I pray that this loss will inspire others to come forward. I know I still think about it. With Love and Light to all those lost yesterday and their family and friends.
