Canadian Music Takes Centre Stage at The 2002 SOCAN Awards
    Join the Canadian music community in celebrating the
    achievements of music creators and publishers

    TORONTO, Oct. 30 /CNW/ - The 13th annual SOCAN Awards are taking place on
Monday, November 18, 2002 at the Art Gallery of Ontario and this is your
chance to mingle with our Canadian stars! Joni Mitchell will be in attendance,
receiving the distinguished William Harold Moon Award, as well as Paul Brandt,
Jimmy Rankin, Myles Goodwyn and many others.
    The Awards bring the Canadian music community together to recognize the
music creators and publishers of the previous year's most-performed songs in a
variety of music categories including pop, urban, country, jazz, concert,
international, television, film and children's. In addition to the William
Harold Moon Award, there are two other major awards, the National Achievement
Award and the Special Achievement Award being presented during the gala event.
