I spoke to Shawn Colvin before her last tour over here
and she reminisced about her UK tour supporting Blue Nile.
Their first album 'A Walk Across the Rooftops' had been their
'record of the road' on her first visit to the UK - playing in Suzanne
Vega's band in 1987 - so she was thrilled to support them in her own
right on their 1990 'Hats' tour - "For a band who so rarely play gigs",
she said, "you can imagine what playing in their home town of
Glasgow on the final night of the tour was like!"

My goosebump-ers from these two:

Downtown Lights from the Blue Nile 'Hats' album - when the guitar
comes in - yikes!

Polaroids (from 'Fat City') - which she started writing on a clifftop
in the southern English seaside town of Southsea - when she was
touring in the Richard Thompson Band.

NP: The Well by Diane Zeigler (from her new one, 'Paintbrush')
God - Ashara will like this - and fellow 'wanderers' - really lovely
open tuning chord sequence on this track. I'm predicting that
her version of Dave Carter's 'Gentle Soldier of the Soul' is going
to be a big hit in the UK - seems we all need this song right now.
