Hi! As I just wrote to somebody off list I worked at the Grand Canyon for a year (1976-77) and this experience only intensified my love for nature, the great outdoors, etc. And I must admit that I am torn between loggers rights..their livelihood and the tree huggers, not wanting to cut down a tree. (is there anything more lovely than a tree? treegreen? ) Well...if truly 125 species.. then my heart is with you on this one! Let Wal-Mart go some place else.

A little off subject...I think what bothers me about some liberals is how they try to put all conservatives in the same box. Like we all are bible thumpers..regressive..money lovers... bigoted.. throw old people to the curb....... I would venture to say that most of you would not know if around me that I was to the right. Ok..other than that life-size oil painting of the Bushes that hangs over my fireplace. Or if you were with me at bedtime..that Bush tee that I wear as a nightshirt that reads: Bush country!! With a map of the US showing in red all the states he won.

I agree. I care about the animals. I live near a lot of wildlife in Northern
Maine. Here they want to put a Walmart near a marsh considered the most
important in Maine with over 125 species of birds-some endangered. People
have been fighting it for years. This is almost my backyard. It's terrible
how little respect we have for other species.
