i heard slouching toward bethlehem yesterday on the radio and the arrangement is
fantastic, imho. I am grateful that Joni has given us the gift of two CDs here and
now. I admire her for doing covers of her own work...revisiting, playing , mixing old
with new ideas/approach.
of course these are not going to be exactly like the former renditions. She's grown,
she's changed and no, her voice is not the *same*. Who's is?? I support her project
completely and wish her the very best with it.
Wish you all could have seen her...Joni was so excited in Toronto last year when she
shared the samplings/demos. It was wonderful to be there, to witness her exuberance.
Let's take it easy on her and perhaps take a more gentle approach to this new body of
work...and be thankful that it's here at all.
