Mike replies:
He certainly said it in 'Deconstructing Harry', possibly in 'Celebrity' and I
think in either 'Small Time Crooks' or 'The Curse of the Jade Scorpion'. I say
'certainly' but what I say isn't gospel, although I believe it to be true.
I'll check the video when my girlfriend finishes her siesta. I have long been
a great defender of Woody Allen's films but have been very disappointed
recently (since 'Crimes and Misdemeanours', really) about the quality overall
and I find it distasteful and unnecessary for him to use this kind of
language, especially from one who previously weighed and crafted his words so
carefully. If anyone out there can confirm or deny the accuracy of my comments
I'd be happy to hear about it.
Regarding Catherine's other comments on Woody's sex life and marital/parental
behaviour I have no comment other than that I too find it distasteful but it's
his business and none of mine.
