I see where you are both coming from with this. I have another take on it. i think the opposite of love is fear. Fear is the root of all things negative, I feel. fear of daeth, fear of rejection, of not being good enough, of poverty, of not having enough, of being alone, of being unloved, of sickness. fear prevents love being given and accepted. Fear lies at the root of dogma, absolutism, the 'i am always right syndrome', racism, sexism, homophobia, cruelty, child abuse, war, greed, the list is endless. Hatred is fear unrecognized and out of control. bw colin
