The results are in from the L.A. Times music critics collective top ten for 2002. Joni/T'log didn't make it, not even on her most loyal critic, Robert Hilburn's, personal list. However, I think a number of you here will like the year-end assessment ;-)

I may be checking out The Hives based on Hilburn's description of their "Your Favourite Band" album - "this inspired update of '60s garage rock exuberance is the 2002 album most likely to put a smile on your face."
