Actually, I just read an interview that Wally Breese did with Jaco's wife,
Ingrid. Apparently the guy beat him extremely badly and to death. Jaco was
runnning away. He eventually pled to manslaughter and basically did no time
at all, something like 4 months. Jaco was drunk and kicked the door because
they wouldn't let him in. The really sad part is that Jaco Pastorius was
bipolar (manic depressive). It is not uncommon for untreated manics to spiral
