I was happy to hear the senator from North Carolina announce today that
he's running for the presidency in 2004. Good! So far I like what he's
saying, including his list of why some things can't get done because of
Dubya's pay-back connections. It's about time someone said it all
clearly, right out loud. Over a year ago a friend mentioned Edwards as a
potential presidential candidate, so I've been paying some attention to
him and other than his pro-Iraq war vote, he's impressing me. Not only
is he a liberal (although tending toward the moderate, but I'd take that
over Bush's conservatism any day), but his personal life is clean clean
clean, far as I can tell. (I also love hearing that North Carolina
accent again.)

What do people in North Carolina or the South think/know about him?
Anyone else have any info?

It gives me some hope to think of someone else being president soon, or
at the very least having candidates making noise for the next year and a
half about how things could be done another way. After the last dismal
election, the Democrats have nothing to lose by being outspoken. I sure
hope they've learned that lesson.

especially the music and all those rolling rrrrrs.
