Depends on how you define "big," but the McGarrigles got some recognition 
in the 70s when Linda Ronstadt and Maria Muldaur recorded some of their 
songs. I own their debut, "Kate and Anna McGarrigle."  It's quite beautiful 
and quite sad.  Includes "Heart Like a Wheel" which Ronstadt made 
famous.  I also like their 2nd album, "Dancer with Bruised Knees" - a bit 
quirkier than the first one.
