Two come to mind. The first for cleverness, the second for unexpected
cheek and the explosive laughter it elicited from the audience back in the
70s.
1. From "Love Me Tonight" (1932): When a case of mistaken identity is
revealed, a character faints. Charlie Ruggles leaves the room to find help
hurriedly and approaches the first person he sees, the nymphomaniacal Myrna
Loy.
CR: "Can you go for a doctor?"
ML (fluffing hair and straightening skirt): "Sure. Bring him right in."
2. Again, from "Young Frankenstein": While lifting Teri Garr from the hay
wagon upon arrival at the castle, Gene Wilder reacts to the architectural
elements at the entrance.
GW: "What knockers!"
TG: "Oh, zank you doktor."
CC
"Out of the fire and still smouldering she says, "A woman must have
everything." -- JM
