Thanks for mentioning this one, Jack...I dug it back out and have been playing it 
steadily on the home player over the last couple of days. Besides being VERY 
listenable with great melodic rockers, Steve is a great lyricist and like you say is 
definitely NOT afraid to take on the tough subjects. A nice antidote to all the 
jingoistic Toby Keith that gets shoved in my face here in SC.

Another excellent 2002 release that no one has mentioned in their roundups is "Going 
Driftless: A Tribute to Greg Brown" that is just SO superb, and how could it not be 
with the likes of Ani, Shawn, Lucinda, Iris, Gillian, Ferron...the list goes on. I 
never enjoyed Greg's VOICE so I could never get past that to see what a truly great 
songwriter he is.
