i think if anyone really wants to understand war, it is essential to listen
to those who fought...here is a place to start

There are some pictures in the Guardian today that show just how clean the
last gulf war was. Anyone who chooses to believe that we can bomb a country
and magically remove the people who run it with minimal "collateral damage"
is naive at best. The bombs will incinerate people, destroy communities,
maim and torture, make widows, widowers and orphans, multiply the misery of
the Iraqi people, make even more people hate the USA and everything it does
and stands for and disregard any good it may do. It will do NOTHING to curb
terrorism, absolutely zero. It will have the opposite effect. These dubious
claims of a terrorist threat will become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I am sickened by what is happening. And I know this is my opinion, not "the
truth." Those who are in favour of war, just remember that the same applies
to you, and for Christ's sake stop telling us you're only going on "the
facts". That's just a lie.
