i always thought that she literally saw a falling starburn out, something
which you see quite often above a desert.
the falling star then burns out. a dying relationship. she talks about
"starbright, starbright, you got the loving that i like alright" and the
star that someone gave to her. i.e. she sees the relationship as a
starlight, burning out 'cause she left.
