Do you remember when he tried to shove some leading church person out
of the pulpit during a big Easter service? -- the Archbishop of
Canterbury or the Bishop of London or some such. Precious moments.
:-) Or when he last tried to make a citizen's arrest of Robert
Mugabe and ended up being beaten up by Mugabe's bodyguards and thrown
in the gutter, and then got arrested himself for breach of the peace.
I campaigned for him in 1981 when he stood for parliament, but sadly
didn't get in. I've always thought he was someone destined for high
office, and I think he may still be, although he could probably never
tow a party line. The man who beat him in 1981 is still around - a
senior Liberal - forgotten his name. Every time I see him on
television, I think: "that should have been Peter".
