Hey Jerry,

Thanks for recommending the guy on ebay who almost constantly auctions
"Shadows And Light" on DVD-Video. The seller I bought from, "musicculture",
shipped immediately. The artwork is much nicer than on my USA VHS tape. In
addition, the running time is slightly longer as you have already noted.

What I wasn't prepared for was that it looks like it was shot yesterday. I
mean, unlike my store-bought VHS version, the colors are true to life, not
faded out like ragtime "blues". (Technically speaking, I think the VHS was
struck from a faded film print.) But my biggest impression of the DVD is
that people look better. It's not that the picture "looks" sharper,
although it is. It's just more like "life". It's truer. High, smooth
cheekbones look magnificent, as they rightfully should- as if it was shot
yesterday.

My total cost to have a factory-fresh, world-class, region-free DVD of the
finest songwriter of my generation imported to my doorstep from the other
side of the planet: $32 including one week express delivery. Naturally I
went out and bought a DVD player immediately.

Thanks.

Lama

PS, Margo also looks and sounds pretty darned good too. I've had the
Junkies' "open road DVD-Video & live CD" set for awhile but it was Joan who
ultimately made me buy a DVD player.
