Dear Ann Landers, thank you for re-printing your columns! ;~) All kidding aside, Walt - this is a pretty good stab at the beast. I will add that the 20-track cd is probably closer to the truth than the 12-tracker that I had suggested. The CSNY 4-CD set averages about 20 tracks on each cd, and I would imagine that the audiences for Joni & CSNY have lots of crossover.
I could not sleep at night if I didn't offer a couple of comments: > 13. i think i understand (so simple so beautiful and so well sung) (and that hag b. > streisand should just hang it up) Barbra never recorded this song; you've confused it with "I Don't Know Where I Stand". I'm miles away from being a Streisand fan but her take on Joni is exquisite...matter of fact we've got a live version from 1973 coming up on Volume 38. > 22. for free (bet cha never heard petula clark's version) Of course many of us have. Pretty song, pretty voice, nice cover. How much did you bet? You can send it to Ashara for the Fest Scholarship fund. ;~) (I'll bet you haven't heard Catfish Hodge's version...or Morning's...or...well you get the point.) > 2. case of you (everyones favorite-not mine tho) You are correct - ACOY is currently leading the pace for the #1 song. The other 4 in the top 5 are all Hejira songs - cool! > 5. bird that whistles (overlooked gem-why doesnt > anyone ever vote for this one on the song poll? unassuming and un pretentious) I mostly agree with you - unfortunately it has the dubious position of being the LAST cut on Joni's WORST album, so it probably doesn't get much air time. (Sorry Bob's Art...) Anyway...thanks again for all the topics. Bob NP: Living Colour, "I Want To Know"
