Those are nice things to say about Dar but I'd describe her as complex, artistic, brilliant, keenly observant, totally honest, and in charge of her career and her craft. Her ballads, of which there are many, convey darkness much more than sweetness. Hmmm...sounds more like a certain "lady of duality" than an ingenue like Jewel.
