i agree, this war was planned a long time ago but your interpretation of
those who oppose this war indicates you are not bothering to listen...i have
never heard anyone in opposition who has ever implied saddam is anything but
horrible & needs to go...however, the manner in which the usa is going about
this is what so many object to & indeed in this past week the actions by the
usa have created many new enemies in the muslim world- this is what so many
predicted would happen...

i heard a very good point made recently but i can't recall by whom (this is
directly related to list i posted of places the usa bombed & not one of them
resulted in a gov't of democracy)- the point that was made was that
democracy HAS often resulted when the people of a country rise up to
overthrow a leader (usually with the support of the usa but not in the sense
of an invasion or bombing etc)... however, as many have noted, establishing
a democracy in iraq does not seem to be the goal of this invasion...its
about doing business

>War with Iraq was inevitable, but to listen to all of the people who oppose
this war you would think that Saddam is being persecuted when in reality
he is the persecutor. Is the left so willing to oppose the war that they
turn a blind eye toward the human atrocities that are committed by
Saddam? <
