I don't know about that...I think it is impossible to put a value on her
talent and accomplishments and to even try to do so diminishes them in my
opinion.  The fact that she has always been so headstrong and true to her
artistic vision makes me believe she doesn't particularly care about being
the "best" and that it is more her fan's problem than hers.  Makes me think
of major league baseball and players who barter over contracts, trying to
make $14 million instead of $10 million.  Once you get to that realm of
income, I don't see what the difference is.

I disagree...I think it's more her fans that seek to give her this title. 
For the most part, I think musicians just want to be heard.
