I know what you mean Ken. I tell everyone how great Joni is, yet I feel like
I have a bond with her. She's *my* Joni, and I'm her biggest fan. Long ago
I felt sort of this way about Bette Midler, Melissa Manchester, Michael
Franks, Chaka Khan, and a few others who got very little airplay at first. I
felt they were my own personal artists until the rest of the world caught on.
They're definitely not in the same category as Joni, but I enjoyed them more
when they weren't as well known.
After second thought, I guess since I've felt this way about Joni for
sooooooo many years, maybe I wouldn't mind if I shared Joni with the rest of
the world. She's certainly paid her dues.
