There is so much to say about the PBS special that I feel that I just can't quite get writing here. . . with the feeling that I won't be able to be all inclusive. . .
So, even though I am not going to be all encompassing, covering the scope of everything I think and feel, here's a few things:
I thought Woman of Heart and Mind was EXCELLENT. On a scale from one to ten, I would give it a TEN!
Susan Lacy and Everyone else who worked on it did a TERRIFIC job!
The only tiny, tiny thing I would have like to see was a little bit more of a mention of Joni and her commitment to/expression of peace and Justice issues. . .( Lori mentioned a bit of this.)
Joni's taking a stand on Peace, Justice and environmental (who else mentions the "e" word anymore. . .ecology?) has significantly moved me throughout my life and it has often given me the strength that I needed.
And to comment on what Bree posted yesterday, quoting Joni:
"To me it's like can you get through this life with a good heart? And >that's been my struggle,you know with all the injustice and >everything..
things that piss you off.. you know. Try and get the heart to rebound >..come back..and bloom again."

Yes, I too am moved by this and Joni's reminder that in the face of personal, professional, and global struggles. . . keeping the love, "some semblence of a garden," is really the challenge we face in this thing called THE JOURNEY...
So, for me, it is a reminder that life is indeed all about this journey. . .and what we make of it. . . how we respond to it.
AND also, another ubiquitous theme in the film was/is Joni's search for *truth. . .and her expression of it. . .her commitment to it. . .
I am eternally grateful for you Joni. . .
You have given us so much. . . .
You have helped me "shake my fists like lightening."
Oh, and I am not done. . .
And I have only seen the video once so far. . . but in watching this I was struck by the sheer volume of her solid work.
ONe song after the next, in my mind, one "hit" after the next. . . Rows and flows of high quality, sparkling gems; pearls; golden stardust.
And still we ask for more. . . more JOni , MOre. . . Tears come to my eyes now, as I too have selfishly asked for more. . .
Joni, you have given us SO much. . . . so. . . THANK YOU. . .
