There are plenty of (mainly personal, but you get the idea) reasons to 
put tapes onto CD:-

-    I have CD players (or an audio feed from one) in four rooms at home
     ...but I only have _one_ tape player

-    Only one out of two cars has a tape player (and that's busted)

-    Longevity :)

So, please, give me gaps in my CD :)

[ And, for what it's worth, I've even sampled some of my old vinyl and
  written it to CD :) Not the last word in quality, but at least I can
  listen to it conveniently ]
