Hmmm. I polled my mother who was born and raised in Altoona PA and in later
years had her accent shaped my father's melodic Swedish accent and
pronunciation quirks along with the elegant articulation of industrial New
Joisey.
She had no clue why I was asking and the conversation veered dangerously off
into the dangers of the Internet when I tried to explain the joni list and
how someone brought up the pronunciation and that, no, it's not a chat room
and no, it's not a pyramid scheme and yes I am careful and no I haven't let
them take my children anywhere and yes some of them might be...AWRIGHT MA!
How do you pronounce the word???
