I considered walking the four blocks to his house
during lunch today to ask him ... but in my head I
kept hearing my dear president (and I do adore the
man, if not his concept of truth) saying, "I did not
have sex with that woman!" so I figured I already knew
what he would tell me.
I used to be stationed with a woman who hails from
Georgia, and (in 1984, anyway) she defined "making
love" to be ONLY when she and her husband had the type
of intercourse that might beget offspring. (I'm
trying so hard to avoid being crude.) Other
"pleasures" didn't count as "making love." And in her
mind, if you weren't "making love" with someone else,
you weren't committing adultery.
Is this a perspective unique to the Southern states?
Lori,
wondering in DC
