That is so bizarre! From one of my subscriptions, I recently received a
"Time Inc. Special" glossy book from Entertainment Weekly entitled "The 100
Greatest Entertainers 1950-2000" which lists Joni at no. 64 (between Jodie
Foster (no. 63) and David Letterman (no. 65). They've done a wonderful
little (and accurate) capsule of her career. The only glitch occurs in
naming her best albums where they call Night Ride Home "Come in From the
Cold" (oh well). Their other picks are Blue, Court and Spark, Hissing and
Turbulent Indigo. Some of the other musicians noted are Jimi, Stevie,
Clapton, Chrissie Hynde, Paul Simon, Beatles (no. 1), Elvis (both Presley
and Costello), Springsteen, Beach Boys, Dylan, Aretha, Janis and more. This
is a book well worth having and is also available on the newstands now.
$9.99 U.S/$14.99 Canadian.
