NJC: mp3 player for PC recommendation?

Sorry to use bandwidth for this but.......

I have found that if I'm playing an mp3 file from the cd player with Winamp
(an otherwise fine mp3 player) it locks up the machine if I change web pages
using the standard Internet Explorer.  Has any PC user had a good experience
with an mp3 player that works WHILE surfing.  (It doesn't seem like too much
to ask now, does it?)
