* This is an inside joke. If you weren't at the New Orleans' JoniFest (aka
PazFest #1), then here's the joke. It was at PazFest #1 <HINT!!> at a
rock club in
New Orleans called The Howlin' Wolf. Leslie Mixon read
a remembrance of Wally (written especially by JJ) while we passed out
lighted candles to every member of the audience. JJ had picked out "Tiger
Bones" and since he couldn't make it, I co-ordinate with Michael's sound
guy to play it. So there's this solemn moment. Everyone's thinking about
death and loss, holding these candles, in contemplation.

Paz introduces Bob Mueller who walks up to the mic with a 6 string..........
I'm standing at the rear of the stage, taking a picture of the candle-lit
audience, wondering how Mueller's gonna get out of this........ mood.

He stands at the mic....... (candles flickering)

already fully tuned..........

for a long moment...........

Once he has everyone's attention he says, at last he says

"I can't believe
what I have to _follow_ sometimes!"

Well, the place fell out with laughter. Absolutely fell OUT! Then Bob told
the audience that he was part of this Joni Mitchell Discussion List on the
Internet. I think he introduced Les. Then he told his story. He said that
the first time he used a search engine, like Yahoo!, he typed in the
words.......

"Naked Kinky Coeds"....... or something. And everyone fell out again!
(Bob, help me out- what exactly did you type in?)

Then Bob says that the SECOND thing he typed into a search engine was the
phrase "Joni Mitchell". He found a wealth of information on (then) Wally's
site which he loved. And a link to like-minded individuals at www.jmdl.com.

Anyway, it was a night for the ages. (Marcel's phrase.)

npimh: "Thanks For The Memories"

Awaiting a flood of corrections from Michael Y., Bob M. and Paul I, :)

(I'm posting the picture on Catgirl's wonderful Picture List. I couldn't
find it in the archives so I don't think it's been posted before.)
