2nd prize, costume, 5 and under category: Bradey Spitler-Shilling, a billy goat, grandson of Poppa (the Rev) Vince. (1st prize went to a cousin of Bradey, a butterfly, or a bee, I wasn't sure) 1st prize, costume, 6-10: Gage Shilling, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (Donatello, I think), grandson of Poppa (the Rev) Vince. IOn the 10 and up category, a cousin took a third, an we wuz robbed, Cameron's paper mache dinosaur was fantastic and the hobo set-up that won was a five-minute job at best. By my count, we had two actual grandfathers, one step-grandfather, two step grandmothers, one actual grandmother, girlfriend of a father, and sisters of a mother and of a father, and various cousins, at the awards show. I think had we not gotten prizes, we would have stomped the judges to little smudges on the pavement. Highlight: I had a glow light popsicle for Gage for Halloween, and that was his favorite Halloween treat (take that, all you other grandparents/step grandparents, I know what the kid really wants... no bragging here...) For those who missed it, makle plans to be here next year. .
