I know John McLean, indeed, Les, and have played with him, too. I agree, he's 
fantastic. A very personal guitar "voice," extremely musical.

Another phenomenal Chicago guitarist is David Onderdonk, who has played and 
recorded with me for more than 30 years. A brilliant composer, a personal 
voice, as musical as music gets. Check out his duo album with percussionist 
Mark Walker "Loose Contact" on the Southport label. On some of the tunes he 
plays an eight string guitar, simultaneously covering the bass parts. He also 
plays great piano.
