George Shearing
Thomas "Fats" Waller
There are so many others: Tommy Flanagan, Marian MacPartland, Oscar
Peterson, Mary Lou Williams, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Earl Hines.
As for the guitarists, I'll just add Sister Rosetta Tharpe to the list.
A gospel singer/guitar player who recorded in the mid 1940s, she sure
played a mean axe. Charlie Christian was great, too, and then there's
always Robert Johnson.....
