This reminds me of something my favorite priest says:
"God does not have any grandchildren."

It surprised me the first time I heard that but, yes, there are no layers in that
relationship, and ideally no feeling of any kind of separation.

And seeing God as father... that's just too limited a concept for me. I see it as an 
attempt
to poetically explain the unexplainable, but am much more comfortable with the concept 
of
some amorphous creator of the universe, although whether that creator is concerned 
about
what we're doing is something I'm not sure about, even though Christian faith claims 
the
creator is very much concerned about us. But, as always with almost everything, I
wonder.....

Uh oh, discussing both politics and religion in the last few minutes!

Although what could be controversial about that?
